Taken from that episode of Friends where Monica insists that she’s not sick. Only the WEAK get sick. And yet she can’t even say fine, it always comes out ‘find’ because she’s so sick.
You might as well call me Monica today, because I insisted that I would be fine once I got out of the house. I never thought in a million years, of all the traits Monica and I share, that we would share this one as well.
But here I am! I emailed my boss this morning, telling her I’d be fine to work today. And then B got mad at me, telling me that I’m not fine. If I can’t stop coughing, how am I going to answer the phones? Or check people in? How! I decided I would be fine. I told him, over and over that I would be fine.
And here I am. Completely not fine.
I am sucking down water and cough drops, and going through kleenexes like there’s no tomorrow. I can’t even stop coughing long enough to let the purell on my hands dry.
We’re gonna need more kleenexes. And purell. And drugs.
Let the rest of you learn from the hard lesson I’m learning. If my boyfriend ever gives you advice on something to do? Listen to him. He’s a smart dude. He knows what he’s talking about.
Or you know…listen to your boyfriend. Whatever!
(One good part about being sick? I get to blame everything on being sick.
I’m sorry I was a bitch when I woke up! I blame the sick!
I’m sorry I left the food out last night! I blame the sick!
I’m sorry this post sounds like it was written by a 3rd grader, who has mental retardation problems! I blame the sick!
Hehe, see how that works?!)
But the absolute best part of being sick, getting spoiled rotten by a really hot boyfriend. Who knew illnesses had such perks!
I hope to rejoin the ranks of the blogosphere soon enough! But for now? I’m cowering out, and trying to do as little as humanly possible.
Have a great weekend, y’all!

feel better b!! also, have you tried aloe tissues? apparently they have lotion IN THE TISSUE
amazing!
I’m surprised you can still be funny and so adorable when you’re sick. I become soooo grumpy. But maybe that’s cause I don’t have a really hot boyfriend!
Feel better friend!
xx
P.S And thanks so much for your comment. It really means a lot!
aw I hope your feeling better. Stupid sickness.
You poor thing – rest up and look after yourself. It’s what Monica would want.
Aww, I hope you’re feeling better!
OMG I did the Monica to my husband last week. “You’re telling me you don’t want to get with this? sniffle sniffle cough cough”
Aww I hope you feel better soon. *hugs*
feel better!!!
Being babied is nice. Don’t forget the OJ and vitamins.
I didn’t do it last time. I figured I would give it a try this time around. I can’t believe that they are going to do it on a monthly basis this time. Hopefully I can make it!
We always overestimate how capable we are of working when we are at home– it is amazing how much even a little commute (or the effort of getting dressed) can take out of us. I know I’m a little late, but I hope you are feeling better.
Re: your comment on my blog– haha, talking about naming my child after Maury is very much non-serious. However, I’ve got (old lady alert!) around five years on you… the boys get a little less boy-ish in those times, and may even have the slightest hint of a biological clock too (only on a very quiet night).
